Dream Within

Backstory: I've had very short nails for all my life because of my bad habit: I bit them. Then, sometime last year I noticed I had somehow managed not to ruin every nail and I decided now I won't bite them anymore! Ha, yes, I've decided that like thousand times before but now I actually succeeded! I grew myself beautiful long nails. Yay me, yay vanity. xD And thanks to my friend I got a little interested in nail art (I've used nail polish since year one but never tried anything fancy really.). I'm no way very good at it but I like to try stuff. :)

'Take Me With You' is one of my favorite Tori songs ever. It was released on A Piano: The Collection in 2006. Tori says about this song:

I also got a book about Tori on Monday: Tori Amos In the Studio by Jake Brown. ♥ I have also Pretty Good Years by Jay S. Jacobs but I'm still missing the book written by Tori herself with Ann Powers, Piece by Piece... I gotta find it (in resonable price!).

Another poem for tonight... Stream of consciousness. I miss the time the words came to me easier....

The words "sunset line" were circling around my head and I needed to write them down in a poem. It's short and I kinda wanted something more but simplicity won this time... Corny as always but I don't care! :P


Sunset Line

Meet me at the sunset line,
where they count the rays of light,
as they fight for their time.

Fast forward the scenes,
of the lights disappeared.
I only remember you.
In good, in bad, in grey.

Remember the dawn line,
where it was almost dark,
yet so fun?
Remember the midday line,
where we danced,
and were invincible?

Meet me at the sunset line,
where you can breathe the tranquility,
don't be afraid anymore.

Summery song with a tinge of sadness from Ayumi Hamasaki. Ayu was one of the first Japanese artists I liked and while she's not my ultimate favorite, she has many superb songs! This is one of my favorites, been listening to it on repeat again for a couple of days. :)
(I had to change video, since the music video got removed... have a live performance instead.)

Had to shorten the titles because it was becoming a monster post title... :D So! A couple of days ago BIG news were finally (officially) revealed: Queen is doing a summer gig with Adam Lambert! Aaaah, how cool!

"As many suspected, I can finally confirm: I have been invited by Queen to sing one very special concert! Sonisphere at Knebworth July 7th!"

Here's their superb performance at MTV European Music Awards on November 2011. The performance closed the awards show and they performed three songs: The Show Must Go On, We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions. My favourite is The Show Must Go On. Just... wow!

I'm loving Tori super much today. I mean... I love her music beyond reason. Here's another treat from her newest album, Night of Hunters. This album is based on classical pieces and it's a song cycle, so it's somewhat different than Tori's other albums. Her music is very diverse! Take a listen. :)



What is "nautical twilight"?

Nautical twilight is the time when the center of the sun is between 6° and 12° below the horizon. In general, nautical twilight ends when navigation via the horizon at sea is no longer possible.
During nautical twilight, sailors can take reliable star sightings of well-known stars, using a visible horizon for reference. The end of this period in the evening, or its beginning in the morning, is also the time at which traces of illumination near the sunset or sunrise point of the horizon are very difficult, if not impossible, to discern (this often being referred to as "first light" before civil dawn and "nightfall" after civil dusk). At the beginning of nautical twilight in the morning (nautical dawn), or at the end of nautical twilight in the evening (nautical dusk)—under good atmospheric conditions and in the absence of other illumination—general outlines of ground objects may be distinguishable, but detailed outdoor operations are not possible, and the horizon is indistinct.
